If there is one brand of footwear and accessories that has really made a name for itself is definitely Luis Onofre. Today, it is a well known brand in many countries such as the US, Canada, Israel, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, and many more. Of course, it was not always this big of a brand as it also went through its own very humble beginnings as a small company grown big.

The company first started out as a small one founded by an old lady during the late thirties. The old lady who opened the company was actually the grandmother of the very famous founder, mister Onofre. It was during the year of 1990 that he was the one who assumed the ownership of the company and turned it around to the big company it is known as today.

Sometime in the year 1999, it was able to launch a full fledged collection that made it skyrocket its name. It was the first line of theirs that was showcased in Madrid and Barcelona fashion shows. After that. 2001 saw the launch of another collection in a Portuguese show somewhere in Paris. This collection was the 2001 Summer Collection where only special edition shoes were showcased.

After that, the year 2003 was a big year for this company wherein they showcased a big collection in the Micam fair in Italy. In fact, this lead them to always showcase new collections in this location every year. In 2009, more and more collections were made from the production and development team. In fact, a lot of other footwear brands were in partnership with this brand. Some of them include Jimmy Choo, Anna dello Russo, Isabel Marant, and Marni.

2010 was a very exciting year for the brand when it launched its first online store. The online store was available to Portuguese, Netherlands, and the Spanish market. In fact, the brand was invited to participate in the Swarovski Boulevard fashion exhibit in Madrid wherein they showcased another new collection.

In 2012, the brand received the award for the Best Design Accessories by Portugal Fashion Awards which made it become even more popular among fashion enthusiasts and even celebrities. The collections became so popular that Paris Hilton wore a pair. Michelle Obama was another noteworthy person who wore from the collection after receiving a pair as a gift.

During the year of 2014, another store was opened up but this time in Lisbon. Because it was one of the biggest brands of footwear in the industry, the store was awarded a medal for being a big contributor to the promotion of the city. This was actually given by the mayor of Lisbon himself as an honor to this brand.

Up until today, this company is very strong and aims to go for more expansions by opening up more stores in different places where they see have a high demand. In fact, 2016 saw the launch of the first worldwide online store where all countries could start shopping. Aside from that, 2017 saw the opening of a new store in the city of Porto.
