Holiday Hair Remedies

By Dennis E. Price

Questions often asked before a holiday trip is what do you do with your hair outside of your normal routine.

First problem that we encounter would be harm from the salty sea water when we going swimming after a few hot hours lying in the sun. The experts always say this type of water is good for our face but not our head. Our hair always ends up looking lifeless and not at its best however don't be put off by this instead you can counter act any damage by placing gels on your hair and work this into your scalp to prevent damage. You will be amazed by the healthy glow and shine your lock of curls has after this treatment.

You can take a few hair masks with you on holiday in your suitcase as they do not take up much room. Apply them when you g after your swim in the evening and before long you will notice the difference. First of all apply to dry hair then rinse and apply to wet hair, easy process.

Your next hurdle is the swimming pool as most of them are filled with chlorine. Bad news if you are a swimmer with dyed hair as the chlorine destroys all the colour leaving you literally with green hair.

In this instance the chlorine would damage your coloured hair and possibly turning your hair green. A great way round this problem would be to use shampoos and conditioners which counter act any chlorine in the pool. Always rinse your hair and swimming costumes in warm water when you leave the pool.

One of the things which you do not think of when going on holiday overseas is the tap water. Some of the locations such as Scotland has naturally fresh water pumping through the taps whereas England has water with lime scale which is often referred to as hard water.

Other countries tend to have hard water which is not suitable for drinking or cleaning your pearly whites. In those countries always use tap water to be on the safe side especially when rinsing your hair at the end of your shower for maximum effect.
