Find Out If Alpine Design Is The Right Clothing Brand For You

By David Torkee Lieu

- Don't get mixed up

Alright, before I start my review on Alpine Design products, I want to be sure that we're both on the same page on what company we're talking about. Alpine design is a clothing company that's privately owned by the sports chain Sports Authority. They mainly sell outdoor activity products such as tents, jackets, shoes.. etc. Now, Alpine Design isn't the same as Alpine Designs, with an ("S"). Alpine Designs was apparently a separate clothing company that existed in the 1960's, and sold basically the same products. The products I will be talking about in this article are manufactured by Alpine Design of Sports Authority, not Alpine Designs.

- Alpine Design products

Alpine design makes clothing for both genders, mainly aimed towards outdoor activities and sports. They are also commonly known as a "budget brand," as their products are fairly priced and made from budget material. I once owned a pair of Alpine design slippers, they were comfortable and useful while they were in tact. Unfortunately, they didn't last me longer than a few months. The sole slowly started to flop and tear away from the rest of the slipper, and there was no stopping it once it started to tear. I would guess their products varied based on their purpose. Their clothing pieces like shorts and jackets seem to last for a very long time as long as they aren't abused. Their jackets are made from 100% polyester and do a decent job of providing you with shelter from the elements.

- Product highlights

Though they are considered a budget brand, they do have their strengths in superior product design. In my experience, their backpacks have always held true. From their various styles of backpacks, they are made with the outdoors-man in mind. The featured Alpine design ruck sack backpack comes with padded shoulder straps for elevated comfort while on long hikes. It also comes with a main compartment with hydration sleeve for a quick and convenient access to your water. It's on the lighter side when it comes to hiking backpacks. I'll soon be putting it to the real test by taking it with me on a hike. It's not really meant to hold multiple days worth of supplies, simply enough to hold a day or two worth of essentials. However, this will definitely be my next Alpine product purchase.

- Closing thoughts

In conclusion, Alpine Design is a fairly designed and fairly priced brand that gets the job done. Their materials are some what "budget material" but accomplish their purpose. Some of their products might last a little longer than the others, like their clothing articles as compared to something like their slippers. If you're deciding to head out into the great outdoors and don't have the right material or too much to spend, Alpine Design could be a good choice for you.
