Tattoo Placement Techniques

By Abram Vanorden

Among the many considerations to ponder upon, when thinking of getting a tattoo is where to place it. It is always a problem where to place a tattoo whether you're inking it for the first or the nth time. There are of course several tattoo placement ideas you can look into to alleviate the problem.

The decision as to where to place a tattoo is made easier if you find that spot in your body where the tattoo will look its best. The right spot enhances the physique in the most attractive way.

In Japan, shrines are dedicated to wolves, known as okamis or great gods to them. The Japanese seek the protection of their crops by these wolves from boars and deer. Protection may be the primary meaning wolf designs take when they are included in meaningful tattoo ideas.

Another factor you need to consider in selecting which of the tattoo placement ideas to go for is how visible you want the tattoo to be to yourself. You will not be able to see your beautifully design tattoo if you place it on your back. You will need to turn around and glance in a mirror to see and appreciate it.

There are some tattooists who might engage you in a heated discussion if you insist on a body area where you can see your tattoo if it goes against their belief of the correct placement for the tattoo.

Designs of meaningful tattoo ideas may include a tiger or two. A tiger is one of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac while a white tiger is one of the 4 symbols in the Chinese constellation. The tiger is a representation of fearlessness and royalty for the Chinese and is at par to the Chinese Dragon in symbolic importance. A symbol of anger for the Buddhists, the tiger is one of their three senseless creatures. Meanwhile, South Korea, Malaysia, Bangladesh and India consider the tiger as their national animal.
